Community service is an important professional obligation for hotel managers. Choose a community service activity with your hospitality employer or through class options and prepare a 1 – 2 page word processed summary of your activity including your opinion of the experience. Please attach event documentation and/or pictures to your written report. Prepare to briefly share your experience with the class and/or small group. Community Service is about giving back to your community and contributions may take many forms. Activities may include, but are not limited to: participation in a charity walk or event, coordinate a workplace event, help at a food bank, beach clean-up, coordinate a holiday toy drive, come up with your own, but seek instructor approval. This is not about writing a check or giving away some used clothes, but actively engaging in an event. The event must be done during the course of this semester. Format guidelines: Name and assignment title in top left corner, 1 inch margins, 12 font size in Times New Roman. Submit your report via Blackboard prior to the class start time on the due date.
