The overall Session Long Project (SLP) for MAE570 requires students to begin building a portfolio of resources that may be used in the field of coaching, team administration, and/or sports leadership. A portfolio is a compilation of written materials that reflect an individual’s personal and professional philosophy, while describing knowledge and information related to a specific field of study.
Students will begin development of their portfolio by completing the following sections throughout the session, with one section due each module:

Section 2: Application of Teaching and Learning Theory to Coaching
Section 3: Role of Constructivism in Learning Sports
Section 4: Self-Assessment and Personal Philosophy

SECTION 3: Role of Constructivism in Learning Sports
In the previous module you began to develop your personal philosophy of coaching. This included examining how students learn, and how various learning theories influence your teaching and coaching strategies. You also have reflected upon what it means to be a coach, the performance outcomes you expect from your athletes, and why.
