Responsible management of law enforcement agencies can be determined in large measure by the seriousness given to internal investigations. Conversely, the morale and efficiency of the employees can be significantly affected by the attention to due process and other constitutional safeguards to which the agency adheres.

Discuss internal affairs procedures with which you are familiar in your agency, business, workplace, etc., their relative fairness or unfairness, and the needs of law enforcement and other agencies to have internal discipline and accountability. Consider the element of public exposure and scrutiny involved in the particular line of work. Give specific examples from your own experience. If you have none, describe the complaint and investigation process of the employer of someone you know or the experience of a friend or family member in filing a complaint. Consider the perspectives of the officer, the employer, and the public in your answer. Finally, integrate one or more Saint Leo core values into your posting.
