Where financial accounting has mostly prescribed formats and timings, managerial accounting is mostly “for managers” so they can understand the efficiency and effectiveness of their current processes. Even though they can be produced much more frequently than financial reports, creating potentially more work for those producing the reports, managers can get quicker reads using the information in order to make quicker decisions on existing production options.
