the idea of the essay is to either learn about a topic concerning language that interests you or have a language/culture-sharing experience and then create a report summarizing what you did and what you learned. The report should be a standard essay of around 5 pages. The grade will be based on a holistic evaluation that will look primarily for quality, originality, creativity, accuracy concerning linguistic phenomena, potential for re-use or sharing, and responsible use and citation of sources.
