This course was not designed to make you into a designer, but to help you understand design concepts and to think about design and marketing. So what should you have learned? For starters… that marketing is the promotion of products and services through advertising, done using one or more forms of media. For example, print media, posters, online ads, and infographics all make up the marketing toolbox. All these marketing elements are designed by someone.
These areas are all part of design. Hopefully these can give you an insight into what goes into designing a marketing campaign and aids you in your marketing career.
Reflect on the design and layout lessons you learned throughout this course. Think specifically about the following topics: 1) typography, 2) color, 3) composition, and 4) design history. Reflect on the influence these topics have on marketing campaigns.
In a 2-3 page paper, written in APA format and using proper spelling/grammar, explain how what you learned in this course will influence your communication with designers about the creation of marketing materials. Your paper should include a paragraph discussing each of the four (4) topics above along with an introduction and conclusion (for a total of 6 paragraphs).
