Managing Virtual Team, Opportunities and Challenges

Virtual team is the future of the way global companies and organizations work. With the increase of telecommunication improvement, many companies adopted working with teams overseas for many reasons. Some of the companies find it cost efficient to outsource some of their work while other companies need special skills they cannot find in their markets. It is very important to study the opportunities and challenges a company may go through before adopting to virtual team. Nowadays, many people work from home which also applies to managing a virtual team so the importance is not limited only to global companies but also companies that perform locally with remote work. As an international student, I chose to study this topic because of the potential of working on projects globally with people who live back in my country. I also think my classmates will benefit from understanding the obstacles they are facing or may face in the future and how they can effectively manage them.
